Sphalerite has 3.5X more dispersion than diamond and is known for its fiery beauty, which makes it a gem in high demand with gem lovers around the world.  While prized by collectors, the availability of gem quality material is quite scarce.
It is truly a collector’s gemstone known for its lack of hardness, which makes it difficult even for the most highly skilled lapidaries to fashion it into a finished gem.
