Description
These eggs will be sent fresh within a few days of end of auction. PLEASE..pay as soon as possible so we can get fresh eggs to you:) Eggs are usually ready the day the auction ends. Birds are laying now. If there will be any delay, I will let you know. I will try to send extras if we have them in case any get broken. Our Seramas are kept mostly in pairs and trios. All are beautiful birds with mostly show quality in the flock. Eggs will be marked with a name on top. If you keep track of the name of any hatched eggs, I can send pictures of the parent birds. I have two pens that produce mostly silkieds. The rest are smooth feathered. This auction is for eggs from smooth and possibly silkied if the silkieds are laying.
We breed for show quality and beautiful colors. Pet and show quality are possible.
This auction is for whatever eggs are laid in the two days before auction ends. From my top show pairs as well as the more pet quality pens which have show quality roosters.
Seramas can be difficult to hatch and shipping the eggs is hard on them. You should candle the eggs after arrival to see if the air cells were damaged.
Although I will try to help all I can, I cannot guarantee the hatch rate. Most people seem to agree that Serama eggs should be gently hand turned instead of automatically turned. I hand turn ours three times a day. In my incubator, the Serama eggs hatch on day 21, but for some people, they hatch on day 19 or 20.
I continually check fertility by incubating eggs. I candle all eggs before shipping to look for defects and normal, small aircells.
I have to assume that you know what you're doing. So, if you're a novice, please read the many great articles on the internet about hatching eggs. BackYard Chickens has a great article on incubating shipped eggs. Once you receive your eggs, please let them settle several hours or over night, big end up, before putting them in your already running incubator. In hot weather, please set the eggs immediately in the incubator, upright, but don't turn for a day or two. If you have anything other than a digital incubator, I strongly suggest using a meat thermometer or a known highly accurate, calibrated thermometer to test the temperature at egg level.
Priority mail is now insured, so if you receive a damaged box, please show it to the post master and take a picture of it and send it to me so I can file a claim.
No guarantees on viability once they reach you due to postal handling
. Usually they are fine. I have lots of good reports on the hatches from eggs I sell on Ebay. Please leave feedback based on my performance once you receive the eggs. Fresh eggs will be sent and they will be well packaged. If there will be any delay in getting them to you, I will contact you. When I list eggs, they are not yet layed. I have to predict how many I will have the day the auction ends. I will not sell eggs that are more than three days old. Priority mail has worked out best so far. Express mail is great and handled better but is more expensive. Over all, Quail and chicken eggs are pretty hardy despite often rough postal handling.
Box will be marked, "Fragile", "This side Up". This does not necessarily make the postal employees treat them better. And they may still x-ray the box. Which may or may not harm them. If you prefer I not mark something or want something added, please let me know. If you want your phone number on the box for the post office to call you when they get there, let me know. Eggs are often damaged by riding around on the delivery truck. It's often safer to have them held for you to pick up.
I'm trying to keep my shipping as low as possible. This often means I end up paying some of it.
Eggs can only be shipped within the US
Please feel free to ask any questions.
Shipping will be Priority mail.
Thank you and happy hatching...
