    Description

This is a large, vintage mixed lot of 150 silverplate forks. They are great for dinners, luncheons, crafts, catering, banquets, etc. They are NOT salad forks (which are typically smaller). Sizes range by both pattern and piece for luncheon and dinner forks, but approximate measurements range from the shortest pattern being about 6 7/8 inches to the longest being about 8 1/4 inches long. Exact ages of the pieces/patterns are unknown, but they would be vintage to perhaps antique. Included are several different patterns, with variant numbers of forks within each respective pattern. There is only one pattern that is a singlet (with no duplicates) in its pattern. Photos #6 & 7 show close-ups of the patterns included in this group. No patterns have monograms. This attractive group of forks could be used for entertaining/catering of dinners, luncheons, weddings, banquets, etc. after a polishing. They could also be used for arts and crafts, jewelry making, etc. It's a nice group of forks with many duplicate pieces which is always nice to have.
The forks have regular wear secondary to age/use/storage, and the condition varies by pattern and piece. Common wear to this lot includes routine scratches, scuffs, marks, discolorations, the infrequent tiny indentation, etc.  Some pieces have limited spots of plating wear. Plating wear could include: discolorations after tarnish removal, a rare deeper scratch, heel wear, an infrequent tiny pitting and/or area of plating wear, limited tine wear, etc. Photo #10 shows example of a couple forks with heel wear, photo #11 shows a fork to the left with a small pit that I found and a fork to the right with some discolorations (that may remain after a polish), and photo #12 shows a fork to the left that I found with tine wear and a fork to the right with a deeper scratch/indentation. As photos show, it's a really attractive group of forks with many quality patterns. Level of tarnish varies by piece, and after a polish they would be table-ready.
