This order is special because as a buyer you can have a surprise hatch where you don't know what is in each egg until it hatches. In each order you are guaranteed to have at least two different duck breeds but you can have up to four different breeds depending on availability. All of the eggs will be purebred. In these order you have the chance of getting Blue Swedish, Buffs, Khaki Campbells, and White Layers. This order is very popular because people love to be surprised and you are getting all purebred ducks that have wonderful laying and meat capabilities. It's a win win all around. Happy Hatching!!
We free range our ducks and allow them access to roam wherever they please. They have a varied diet of premium layer pellets, grasses, insects, and other things that they find while out foraging. We also give them calcium as it helps with stronger egg shells and other nutritional needs. Here at our farm we have a 1:3 male to female ratio in order to maximize fertility while still ensuring that the females are comfortable and not overbred. We use automatic coop door systems which allow the ducks to be mostly self sufficient, making sure that they get plenty of time in their day and don’t need to wait for a human caretaker. Our main breeding stock comes from Metzer Farms which is a very reliable hatchery and has provided us with the best ducks that truly represent their breed.
Shipping hatching eggs is always a gamble and we cannot guarantee fertility rates, the postal services are usually fairly rough however we have had wonderful success in past years. In the event that your eggs do not arrive intact you can contact us and we will make it right, but again there is NO GUARANTEE on fertility or hatching rates. That being said we do take pride in our shipping methods and always try to ship eggs at the best of our ability. In order to have good success we individually wrap each egg in bubble wrap and then place them tip down in the box. The boxes are also packed with bubble wrap, newspaper, or other soft filling material to make sure the eggs do not get jostled around.
The eggs are candled to make sure that there are no cracks or blood spots in the eggs prior to shipping. We do fertility tests monthly to make sure that eggs are fertile. You are guaranteed to have at least an extra egg or two in each order to add a little extra security to make sure that you get all the eggs that you pay for. We have received lots of feedback and most customers receive all of their eggs intact and have good fertility.
