1915 IMPROVED ORDER OF RED MEN MEDAL FOB, PENN. IORM GREAT SACHEM CHARLES E PASS

Description

This medal (or medal fob) is a souvenir of a 1915 meeting of the Great Council (state governing body) of the Pennsylvania Improved Order of Red Men (IORM) in DuBois, Pennsylvania.  It appears to have served as the fob (or drop) on an event badge.  The design includes a very high-relief (three-dimensional) bust of Great Sachem (head of the state IORM) Charles E. Pass, with his 'signature' and the words
GREAT SACHEM
beneath the bust and, along the rim, the words
GREAT COUNCIL OF PENNA. DU BOIS, PA. G. S. D. 424
(the IORM date corresponding to 1915).  The reverse has the mark of the item manufacturer, Whitehead & Hoag (Newark, NJ).
This item appears to be composed of brass that has toned to a nice medium brown color, and it
measures approximately 39 mm (1-1/2") in diameter plus the loops.
This item is in very fine condition, with no apparent actual wear, with toning and some soiling.
