    Description
    This is a 1931 Gibson TB1 5 string Conversion Banjo.  The banjo is all original with conversion parts.  This means everything other then the neck and tone ring are original but the neck and ring were necessary to convert this to a 5 string.  This has a Sullivan Neck and a Huber Vintage Tone Ring.
    The banjo has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a maple neck and resonator.  The hardware is all original and nickel including an original nickel one piece flange.  The flange btw is in really good shape with limited pull, if any at all.  The neck is maple and this has a rosewood fretboard with Seagulls.
    This is a fantastic banjo and this also includes a COA that came from Jim Mills.  Plus this has a hardshell case.
    Condition
    This banjo is in phenomenal shape for a Pre War Gibson.  The tension hoop shows a bit of light pitting but the hardware is incredible.  The metal looks great all the way around and I did not clean this metal, this came in to the shop in this condition.
    The resonator has some finish checking and some other very minor surface scratching.  The finish looks really good on the resonator regardless and is original.  The frets are in good shape with only a bit of wear on the first few.  There are spikes at frets 7, 8 and 9.  The case is in really good shape inside and out.
    Set Up
    The banjo has a Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Snuffy Smith Bridge and this has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.  This banjo is a fantastic example of a Pre War TB1 conversion that looks great, sounds great, and is a phenomenal player.
