    Description

    Hatching Eggs Disclaimer:
I do not guarantee hatch rates under ANY circumstances.
Too many incubating variables and shipping problems can occur.
I hatch these same eggs at least once a month to sell chicks; I know these eggs are fertile.
If an egg does not develop it may appear as infertile to the layman. If your eggs experience rough handling during shipment, the egg(s) will 'scramble' and will not develop.
Please be aware that the delivery date above is only an estimate. Be prepared to incubate your eggs 3 - 12 days after you make your purchase. I cannot give an exact date or day of the week your eggs will ship or arrive. Please realize hens lay better some days than others.
Texas Animal Health Commission - Permit #3332 - Class A.
    PT Certified Clean.
As a result of the Silver Laced Gene, although very seldom, you may hatch a solid silver/white cockerel.
8 Chocolate Silver Laced Orpington Chicken Hatching Eggs is what you are buying.
You will receive 6 eggs plus 2 extra in case of breakage and/or to improve hatch rate.
Eggs will weigh 1.8 ounces or more when shipped. Egg weight is extremely important if you want early maturing, large & fertile hens that lay large to extra large eggs. Ask your seller what their eggs weigh. It will take a year or more to recover from a flock of small hens. Most small hens will never lay good size eggs.
I have 3 roosters and 16 hens in this pen.
Pullets will start laying in approximately 7 - 8 months.
Hens will lay hatching eggs in approximately 10 - 11 months.
Mature hens will weigh 4 - 6 pounds. Roosters will weigh 7 - 8  pounds.
The Orpington originated from Great Britain in the late 1800's. Orpingtons were developed William Cook, a coachman who lived in Orpington, Kent. The Orpington is a large fowl with soft feathering that masks the true size of the bird. The feathering allows the endurance of cold temperatures better than other breeds. The Orpington is considered an active fowl and does well free-ranged or confined. Their personality is calm and gentle. This fowl has a deep breast with a curved back, short legs with thighs covered by thick feathering. Hens do tend to go broody and is a good mother.
I replace my hens before they are 2.5 years old. Young hens have superior fertility.
Young hens & good hen to rooster ratio = excellent fertility and hatch rate. Other variables are u
    ncontrollable.
Some chicks offered by individuals, feed stores and hatcheries originated from extremely small hatching eggs. Which will result in small hens that will never lay good size eggs.
Purchase hatching eggs from a reputable seller that sells good size hatching eggs.
Always hatch and raise ALL your flock members. This will ensure proper care and development from day one.
If your eggs are damaged or lost it will be your responsibility to file a claim at USPS.com or FedEx.com. I will ship you fertile fresh eggs in a timely manner but my responsibility ends there. Do not hold me responsible for shipping/shippers problems. USPS includes insurance and FedEx includes 0 insurance with your shipment so please do not ask me to refund you for damages or replace delayed or lost eggs.
I take the responsibility of selling you eggs VERY seriously. I will handle your eggs with utmost care. I hand carry egg orders to the local shipping office each afternoon.
Once you receive your tracking number use USPS.com or FedEx.com to track your package. Ebay has a poor estimation calculator and is never accurate.
By purchasing this listing, you agree to hold me blameless in regards to poor hatch rates. You also agree that negative or neutral feedback regarding poor hatch rates and/or fertility will be reported to eBay for removal.
I would never sell an egg that I would not incubate myself.
Your eggs will be 1 - 3 days old when shipped.
My eggs are stored in a dedicated refrigerator set at 55-60 degrees with a maintained humidity of 70 percent. Texas A&M has a publication with these recommended settings for hatching egg storage. This will largely increase hatch rates. I turn my stored eggs by hand at least twice daily.
    Special Orders:

    Mixing different breeds is fine.
