Antique Forged Bronze Axe Hatchet Fraternal Order? Bone Handle Rare Relic PRD

The Hatchet was dug out of an abandoned homestead of an Ishpeming Michigan estate. The owner remembers it being apart of his family since childhood, roughly 60 years and was told it had been in the family even longer, he remembered stories his grandpa and uncles would tell, of how it came from a fraternal order, either from the Soo Michigan or possibly Canada.
Other than the family history I have not Found any research that would help in identifying the hatchets origins or uses.
Some things to know about the hatchet, The hatchet is in 2 pieces, the handle is made of bone with a metal rod partially exposed.
Cast into the head are letters and numbers. .
