Description
Attractive and good sounding 5 string resonator bluegrass banjo from the late 1970.This is a Conn C-series banjo. I have found no information about Conn's banjos but there is some information/photos of Conn C-series guitars out there with the same logo on the headstock.
Has the "Custom Made" truss rod cover seen on banjos made by various Japanese makers.
I do not know for sure which company made this banjo but Iida is a highly probably guess.
Hearts and Flowers inlay.
Truss rod turns and is not in a tightened all the way position
Light wear on the first few frets. The original sealed tuners work okay but have a bit of play in them.
Sliding capo installed--may or may not be original to the banjo.
Clear head shows off the flamed maple on the back inside of the resonator--also provides a bright tone.
Weighs 9.8 pounds on my scale.
The only cosmetic issue is some discoloration of the binding from ivory to brown--this is visible in photo 6.
Nothing meek about the sound of this banjo.
I am leaving the nice leather strap attached.
The original case with yellow lining and extended edges is typical of Japanese cases from the 1970s.
Ships lovingly and carefully packed by UPS or FEDEX--shipping costs keep going up and up on large dimension boxes. The shipping cost you see if actual retail price of shipping.
