Description
Brand new suction box, model SS0-120. 7 5/8" square, about 10" tall. 1 1/4" main connector, 1/2" connector for accessories. Internal check valve. Single stage motor, 120 volts AC, 6.8 amps, auto thermal protection, grounded. Now ncludes 2' of 1-1/4" flex hose and a 1-1/4" straight brass connector for attaching to the foot pumpreservoir
. Pulls 48" water vacuum which is more than strong enough for a rebuilt or even slightly leaky player piano - if you think you need more, check item #
292118780130 which is a two stage vacuum motor (model DS1-120) - generally quieter and can pull up to 70" and comes with a basic speed controller.
Motor cost has reached the point where the cost difference between a 1 stage and a 2 stage motor is negligible, and the two stage has more power and is somewhat quieter. If space is not a concern, consider going with a two stage, available in my eBay store.
We changed the original specs from wires exiting the back of the box to wires exiting the top, similar to our two stage unit. This makes wiring easier to access and allows installation of a motor control on the top (see item #
292302468804 for this box with a motor control included.)
We also have a two stage suction box with independent controls for volume during play and rewind speed (DS2-120) - check auction #
292282333790.
Ready to ship, usually goes out the same day when purchased before noon.
For
additional clearance, if you need a 1.25" brass connector
elbow, check item #291679223198. We also have flanged straight connectors, item #292210627189.
I recommend using a motor speed control (readily available online and we will be offering one shortly as well) as this box produces quite a lot of suction. Running the motor only at the necessary level also reduces related motor noise. Speaking of motor noise, this box is designed internally to limit transmission of vibrations from the motor to the box and it is felted on the bottom to help prevent noise transmission from the box to the piano.
In the next few weeks we will be rolling out additional components, watch my eBay store.
I've done player restorations for 30+ years and am glad to answer questions about this product before or after the sale. My contact info is included with every item and you can also reach me through eBay. Installation of a suction box is usually not a difficult task but it can be helpful if you have someone to call during the process - it's part of what you get when you purchase one of my products.
