    Description

    This 4 string "President" banjo was likely made in about 1934 according to its serial number (3536) and we think it was manufactured by Gretsch. It's in good condition, with no cracks or splits that we can detect. The tuning gears all work well. There is some staining on the head (see pictures). The headstock and fret board feature a beautiful inlayed design. The entire instrument is 33" long and the head is 11" wide. The fretboard between the head stock and body is 16" long.
    We think the case is original to the instrument, and it's also in good condition. It's very sturdy and has only minor interior and exterior cosmetic wear consistent with age. The handle, latches and hinges all work as they should.
