Description
This is a Rare 1849 Antique Religious In Hoc Signo Vinces Pledge Temperance medal. The date on this medal is July 4, 1849 and references the early Temperance movement. this medal may have been crafted in Britain, but we are unsure of that. The medal was created by the Temperance Mission Commission, with the Very Reverend T. Matthew President. The medal shows that the individual receiving it has promised to abstain from intoxicating liquors, and to set a good example. This is a fine example of a moral society advocating for abstinence from hard liquors and drink. Tis would make a great addition to a 19th Century Token/Medal collection, and would also make a fine gift!Sorry, no International shipping other than to Canada. However, if shipping to Canada, postage will be more.
