    Description

This listing is for 15 freshly laid hatching eggs, I will include extras when and if available to compensate for any damaged by the postal service, I will always include a few extras, the number will just very by how many that get laid that day,  I have 35 Ancona ducks, including many rare colors such as a rare wild coloring that has black and brown lacing, caused by the genetics that gives Ancona's their broken pattern, as well as chocolates and  lavender's, Ancona's are a  rare breed that originated in the united states, some claim it originated in Europe but the first written documentation on this breed was within the United states, my flock has great fertility as I have more then adequate males as I hatch my own eggs, but as I have currently filled my incubator I thought I would share my flocks genetics, shipped hatching eggs can be very tricky as they can be mishandled by  the post office, the box will be very clearly marked as live embryo's and to not X ray the contents, each egg will be bubble wrapped and well packed, they will be shipped priority mail USPS.
Ancona's are a dual propose breed meat and eggs, they are flightless, they can not even fly to the extent of a chicken, so they are very easily contained, so you will never have to clip their wings. they flap their wings for exercise but are incapable of lifting off the ground
they will average laying more eggs then a chicken
the only breed that has a higher layer rate  is not flightless
Ancona's are very nice and I never have issues with bullying like can happen with chicken's, ducks do tend to be more fearful then chickens of people, but as far as in flock violence  with my ducks I have had Zero issues.
as some one who has ordered many hatching eggs myself I will do every thing possible to make sure they make it to you in good shape, the box will be insured if it arrives damaged please make a claim to the post office, if you are new to hatching eggs I would suggest buying local fertilized eggs  to start with to test out your incubator and so you can make any needed adjustments, hatching eggs best within 7 days from the time they are laid and fertility drops after the seventh day, you need a good incubator that holds a steady temperature of about 99.+ but will not go over 100 degrees if they reach 103 degrees the embryos' will not survive.
Duck eggs need higher humidity then other birds to hatch, there is no guarantee of hatch rate as there are so many variables with the mail and post office handling, I have always found that the more eggs I order the higher chance I have of having live chicks hatched, Ancona chicks typically cost  about per chick not including shipping, ordering hatching eggs is a good way to get rare breeds at a lower cost, however hatch rates vary wildly on shipped eggs, I have had as Hight as 90% hatch rate on shipped eggs and as low as Zero, 30% to 50% is considered doing well with shipped eggs but there is no guarantee that you will be able to hatch any
our flock is very spoiled and well cared for, we have a very large enclosure fully netted and predictor proof, they are given fresh clean water a few times a day as well as a kiddy pool
