One thing is for sure; there are NOT a lot of antique items from old Courtenay North Dakota. And even though this one has some letter wear, with a little research in an early day Courtenay, North Dakota City Directory, a person could fill int the missing blanks; literally! This is a colorful and attractive plate with the picture of ripe fruit on the front - peaches, plums, and a pear. Notice it mentions a local business, a "Cash Dept. Store", this would have been the company that had this old plate custom made to advertise their business. Old souvenir china pieces like this are always in demand as
1) they have the town and state on them that they are souvenirs
AND
2) have colorful scenes, pictures, designs, logos on them
.
These things together along with the rarity of old plate make for a great old relic from Courtenay, North Dakota, of yesteryear,
check it out!
