The smallest chicken worldwide! Our Seramas are size A, with only 2 size B hens out of a flock of 15! They are show quality with a beautiful array of colors.
Our line of the Serama breed is also winter hardy! After 8 generations of Northeast winters our birds have genetically adapted to winter temperatures even below zero. Our Seramas are very cute and gentle, yet hardy and healthy!
We have very good hatch rates with our Serama eggs which is almost unheard of. Our birds are very hardy and we think this is the reason for the difference in our hatch rate. Our customers have been more than pleased.
These lovely little birds are very friendly with adorable personalities! They enjoy free range time and are so much fun to watch. The tiny roosters have the cutest little crow.. and they lay cute little white and cream eggs. They are just endearing!
Eggs for this auction will be from first and second year layers.

*Our eggs are very fertile, we hatch constantly. We keep one rooster per four hens.
**We are not responsible for hatch rates as there are so many variables in different incubators, individual hatching techniques, and so many factors out of our control after they leave our hands, including broody hens and also during shipping. Hatch rates and fertility are two different things. Not all fertile eggs will hatch. Shipped eggs are a gamble as the process of shipment can damage them. Hatch rates with shipped eggs are less than with eggs not shipped**

What is The Sweet Chicken Project?
Our flocks are hand raised with loving kindness. All of our flock members have names and are part of our family. On our homestead we even have a retirement home for older birds no longer laying. We love them and they are cared for through old age here, where they can live out their natural lives.
When you decide to raise chickens you have a few choices of how to obtain them. In most cases, you really don't know what kind of genetics they'll have other than the breed, and they may have come from a less than ideal situation.
Chickens carry traits, temperament and personality from their parents, grandparents and so on just like us. You really have no way of knowing what kind of temperament they will have.
We have worked very hard at obtaining the sweetest, friendliest, kindest flock of birds that not only are affectionate, but can be handled by young children. We truly love our birds and they reflect that back to all of us everyday. Yes, even our roosters are sweet & child friendly, from our proven genetic lines.
The Sweet Chicken Project is in it's 10th generation of birds with these kind traits. We offer hatching eggs and chicks carrying these fantastic genetics.
