This DPF is a genuine Mercedes Benz unit that has the MB warranty. Even though these are NEW UNITS, Mercedes still requires a core deposit
Be careful of will fit units manufactured in EU that claim they are exact fit. Those units are made for the 2.1L Sprinter non turbo 4 cylinder only available in Europe. They do fit, but they are not approved for the 3.0L V6
This unit is the MB original and is approved for use in California and NY. Other DPF units for this application are not approved for CA and NY. Those units will not meet the same emissions standards as this original unit
DPF Technology is pretty simple, it uses a honeycomb core, similar to a catalytic converter. The small passages in the honeycomb become clogged with excess soot and ash and will create back pressure which prevents the Turbo from producing full boost pressure. The pressure sensor which compares measurements at the inlet and outlet of the DPF determines if the DPF flow has been slowed due to excess soot/ash build-up. See clogged photo
Using low ash low soot oils like Fuchs will help prevent premature clogging of the DPF unit
A core deposit is required, see core charge & return policy below. Once your core is returned and refunded your total cost is 9.97 plus core return shipping

When you purchase the DPF we will contact you and send an invoice for the core deposit separately
DPF will not be shipped until the core deposit has been paid, the core deposit is refunded when your old unit is returned
Cores must be able to be remanufactured in order to receive a full core refund
Internal ceramic honeycomb core must be intact, not cracked or missing
99 out of 100 DPF's are reusable and receive a full refund
We have only had one core turned down and it was missing its center ceramic core
Core must be returned within 60 days to receive core deposit refund
