VINTAGE CLASSICAL GREEN CHYRSOPRASE CAMEO STYLE BROOCH SIGNED (c) HAR FOR REPAIR

UP FOR YOUR PURCHASE IS A CLASSICAL GOLD TONE AND RARE CAMEO STYLED BROOCH WITH AN UNUSUAL AND LARGE CENTER GREEN CHYRSOPRASE LIKE STONE. IT IS ENHANCED WITH TEN (10) SMALLER GREEN CHYRSOPRASE LIKE STONES by © HAR. This lovely and strikingly colorful brooch perhaps graced the lapel of a beautiful women's c1950's suit or cashmere coat! It was purchased at an estate sale of a very prominent woman who owned and was the principal of a private elementary school in Brooklyn, NY up until the early 1990's.
Jewelry marked “HAR” has long been a mystery to both collectors and dealers

However, the mystery has been solved.
Research at the U.S.A Copyright Office in the Washington Library of Congress, found that the “HAR” Hallmark was owned by Hargo Creations in New York and the company was founded in 1955.
The “HAR” mark was probably used beginning in 1955 to 1957, or so. Some pieces of HAR jewelry are among the most sought after by collectors.

The large center egg-like shape stone is in good vintage condition with a hairline scratch, NO cracks

here are nineteen (19) wee tiny green stones that are missing.  Since only the wee tiny ones are missing seemingly they were perhaps used to repair another piece????????
The remaining stones are secure.  I was going to replace them with rhinestones and I never got around to it.
For a brooch that is well over forty years old it has retained much of its gold tone color on the front
The pin is secure and the safety is in working condition.
It measures 2” Long by 1 1/2” W.
I consider it to be in good vintage condition.  IT IS BEING SOLD FOR REPAIR. Please ask questions and take a good look at the pictures. It is sold AS IS and AS FOUND.
