VINTAGE " PS IMPROVED ORDER OF RED MEN " ENAMEL GOLD FILLED? Fraternal PIN 1920s
A circa 1920s, Improved Order of Red Men fraternal order pin.
The order was established in 1765, as the nations earliest fraternal order, and
was changed to the "Improved Order of Red Men" in 1834.
The pin shows an ornate three tier construction, each linked by a chain.
The top tier shows the form of an eagle, perched on a banner, marked; "F.F. & C",
the second is a ornate plaque sating; "PS - Improved Order Of Red Men", and
lastly is a hatchet, and knife cross with a small Indian chiefs head in the center.
The pin shows good condition with expected signs of surface wear.
The piece measures approx. 2-1/4" long x 1-1/4PS " wide.
