  • Condition: good condition with some all around wear and aging. The green velvet has some marks and flat spots. I found one small hole. The patch has a few of the wires bent and loose on the edges. All around really nice though considering the age.

    Large Insignia Patch "Deum Diligite Animalia Diligentes"
    Robe made by Western Costume Company (since 1912) in "Holywood",  notice the spelling?  The original owners name is on the robe,  Ray Hommes.  I did find a Ray Homes in Hollywood.  He was Clark Gables friend and neighbor.  He also attended Clark Gables funeral in 1960.   Judging by the label, I would say this robe was made from 1930-1950.  The dates match up with Clark Gables friend.  Maybe just a coincidence, who knows.
